2015年にカーリング競技専用施設を併設する盛岡市アイスリンクが供用開始となって以降、毎年開催しておりました本大会は、「COVID-19」の世界的な感染拡大に伴い、開催を断念した時期もありました。昨年より様々な制限を加えつつ、開催を再開しています。
2023年については、念のため食事の提供、控え室の提供は行いませんが、昨年よりも条件を緩和した状態で本大会を開催致します。昨今の岩手県内での感染症流行状況を鑑み、レセプションの開催は行いません。
8チームで開催できた場合には、順位に応じてWCT ポイントを付与します。
男子の部につきましては、規定数を超える申し込みを頂戴しました。選考委員会での選考を経て、8チームを選考し、各チームに連絡しています。男子の部はWCTポイントが付与されます。
女子の部につきましては、現在、申込書受理が3チーム（参加を保証）、意向受諾が1チーム、検討中の連絡が1チームです。5月30日までに6チームに到達しなかった場合は、5月31日に女子の部開催断念を判断します。8チームに到達しない場合にはWCTポイントの付与はできません。
中心市街地に歴史的な建物と川や公園などの自然があり、まちを歩いて楽しめるところや、コーヒー店、わんこそばのほか、書店、ジャズ喫茶などの文化が根付くまちであることが評価され、アメリカのニューヨーク・タイムズ紙（電子版）が令和5年1月12日に発表した「2023年に行くべき52カ所」に「盛岡市」が選ばれました。この盛岡の地でカーリングをしてみませんか？

This competition, which has been held annually since the Morioka City Ice Rink, which has dedicated facilities for curling competitions, was put into service in 2015, had to be abandoned at one point due to the global spread of COVID-19 infection. Since last year, the event has resumed with various restrictions.
For 2023, as a precaution, we will not provide meals or waiting rooms, but we will hold this convention under more relaxed conditions than last year. As for the reception, which has become a speciality of the event, we are still considering holding it if possible.
We are looking forward to receiving applications from many teams.
If we are able to hold the event with eight teams, WCT points will be awarded according to the standings.
The first deadline is 1 May. The closing date will be reconsidered again depending on the status of future applications.
